(London, Ontario) – The #8 nationally ranked Fanshawe Falcons Women's Soccer team (6-0) continued their winning ways on Tuesday evening with a 3-0 win over the St. Clair Saints (2-3-1).

Fanshawe got on the board early with a goal in the eighth minute from Kayla McQueen (London, ON). The Falcons extended their lead to 2-0 on a made penalty kick by Jade Kovacevic (Acton, ON). St. Clair then had a great chance outside the six-yard box, but Fanshawe keeper Breanne Carreiro (Strathroy, ON) came up with the big save to keep the Saints scoreless in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, Fanshawe continued to pressure St. Clair. Chelsea Zavitz (St. Thomas, ON) showed beautiful control as she split two Saints defenders along the right wing. Zavitz then found an open Kovacevic in the box and she would make the score 3-0 for the home team. The West Division leading Falcons outshot the Saints 24-8 in the game, enroute to the 3-0 win. Kovacevic continues to lead the OCAA in goals scored this season with 20 and her career total is now 69.

On Saturday, September 29, Fanshawe will travel to Sarnia to play the Lambton Lions (0-5).
