Going the Distance

The Seneca Sting (7-5) won their second straight match, defeating the Canadore Panthers (5-8) in five sets 10-25, 27-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-10.

The Panthers opened the match by scoring the first six points thanks to strong serving by Sydney White. White had four aces during the opening run.

The Sting rebounded in the second set, exchanging points throughout with the visitng Panthers before taking a 26-25 advantage. Amy Sayaveth closed out the second set for the Sting, evening the match.

The third set saw the Panthers narrowly defeat the Sting 25-23 while the Sting stormed back to claim the fourth set in convincing fashion.

Jumping out to a 6-2 lead, the Sting maintained their advantage until Nicole Boyd's kill closed out the match.

Sayaveth led the Sting with 11 kills while adding 18 digs. Crystalyn O'Donnell added 7 kills and three aces. Taylor Butcher recorded 28 digs while Maddy Jenkins finished with 35 assists and 3 aces.

Jess Venhuizen topped the Panthers with 19 kills to go along with 23 digs. Ashlyn Kadlecik led the Panthers with 29 digs and 48 assists. Emma Horne topped the twenty digs mark with 23 and White added 10 kills and 18 digs to go along with her four aces.
