The Seneca Sting (10-2) defeated the George Brown Huskies (10-1) 77-73 to hand the Huskies their first loss of the season.
In a closely contested game, neither team was able to gain the advantage during the opening half. The Huskies held a slim 18-17 lead after the opening quarter before the Sting knotted the game up 39-39 at halftime.
The Sting opened up their largest lead of the game with just over five minutes remaining in the third quarter when they took a nine-point advantage.
The Sting took a one point lead into the fourth quarter and closed out the game on a free throw by Melody Lucena with seconds remaining.
Taylor Allicock led the Sting with 24 points. Shenice Stubbs added 13 points and 16 rebounds. Brianna-mae Clugh contributed 12 points and Danielle Belcher had a team-high 7 assists.
The Huskies were led by Aprille Deus who finished with 22 points. Tianna Sullivan added 17 points and 13 rebounds. Kiyann Grimaldo reached double-digits with 10 rebounds.
