WINDSOR, ON - Carrying momentum from two big wins the day prior, the Durham College men's baseball team handed the OCAA leading St. Clair Saints their first loss of the season in a 16-12 Game 1 victory, before dropping Game 2 of the Saturday afternoon doubleheader in Windsor 15-5.
With hot bats following the two wins over Lambton on Friday night, DC produced 16 runs from 21 hits in the first game in Windsor, highlighted by a three-run home run from first-year outfielder
Cam Lugtenburg (Bowmanville, ON) in the fourth inning of a wild high-scoring game. Durham scored a run in every inning but the third of the opening contest, with four Lords batters registering multiple RBI in the win.
After winning three games in a row, the Lords momentum however came to a halt, dropping the second game in just five innings after conceding an eight run fifth inning to the Saints.
The Lords will look to continue their winning ways after the 3-1 road trip, returning home to Kinsmen Stadium on Thursday, Oct. 7 for their regular season home finale. Facing off with the George Brown Huskies, first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
