Sting Conclude Season With Grad Ceremony

The Seneca Sting (5-13) fell in their final game of the season to the Durham Lords (9-9) 25-22, 20-25, 11-25, 19-25.

Needing a sweep and some help to reach the OCAA playoff, the Sting were looking for some magic  in the home finale. Trailing for most of the opening set, the Sting put together a late rally to stun the visiting Lords and take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Lords took over the match from the first serve in the second set, dominating the Sting over the final three sets to improve to .500 on the season.

David Lazarev led the Sting with 13 kills. Winson Lee finished with 7 kills to go along with 7 digs and 29 assists. Lone graduate Grender Dhillon had a pair of kills and 8 digs in his final match in a Sting uniform.

Erik Janssen topped the Lords with 16 kills. Lucas Pichl added 11 kills and 11 digs. Luke Fafard finished with 11 digs while Rory Langley had a match-high 43 assists.
