OSHAWA, Ont. – Brittany Walters (Oshawa, Ont.) stepped up in a big way on Friday at the CRWC as she led the Lords women's basketball team in their 77-66 victory over the Loyalist Lancers.
The paramedics major had a career-high 20 points, with 12 rebounds, for a double-double as Durham College improved to 3-1 on the season.
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.), the team's leading scorer this season, also had a double-double as she added 18 points and 11 rebounds for Durham.
The Lords led 19-15 after the first quarter, but Loyalist bounced back with 20 points in the second to take a 35-29 lead into halftime.
Durham would score 24 points in each of the final two quarters, while holding the Lancers to 13 and 18 points respectively en route to their 77-66 win.
Jenni Thompson was the leading scorer for Loyalist with 19 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double, while Porscha Hewitt added 16 points.
For Durham, Maddie Dender (Ajax, Ont.) also had a season-high 16 points, which included three three-pointers.
The Lords will now have two weeks off as they wait to host the Algonquin Thunder on Nov. 20 at the CRWC. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
