(London, Ontario) – The Fanshawe Men's Baseball squad (10-8) split games with the St. Clair Saints (13-5) in their final home doubleheader of the season on Friday evening. The Falcons won the first game 2-0 behind excellent pitching from Fanshawe's Kale Bilger (London, ON). The Falcons then dropped the second game 4-0. With the win, Fanshawe clinched an OCAA Provincial Championship berth for the fifth consecutive season.

In game one, Fanshawe went up 1-0 in the first inning when Matt Bowden (London, ON) was caught in a run down, giving Tyler Wood (Niagara Falls, ON) the opportunity to score. Wood extended the Falcons lead in the third inning on a single to right field that scored Brendan Robertson (Oshawa, ON). Bilger (3-2) was outstanding from the mound, recording a new Fanshawe Baseball record of 12 strikeouts. The previous record of 10 was set by current associate coach Kyle Zimmer (2016). Miguel Cienfuegos (2-1) was the losing pitcher for the Saints.

St. Clair came out strong in the second game, scoring three runs in the opening inning. Fanshawe struggled at the plate, and were unable to get on the board. The Saints would add another run in the fourth inning and go on to win the game 4-0. St. Clair pitcher Micah Harris (3-2) notched the win, while Fanshawe's Noah Campagnolo (1-3) took the loss.

Fanshawe's final regular season twin bill will be on Wednesday, October 10, when they travel to Windsor for a rematch against St. Clair.
