BARRIE, Ont. - The Durham College men's basketball team fell 69-63 to the Georgian Grizzlies in a Wednesday night road contest.
The Lords had a slow start, hitting just three field goals in the opening quarter to fall behind 16-8 early. Durham bounced back with a strong second frame to even the game at the half, but the poor start proved costly as the Grizzlies pulled away in the second half.
Durham will now return home to the Campus Recreation & Wellness Centre for their home opener on Tuesday, Oct. 30 versus the Centennial Colts. Tip off is set for 8 p.m. with the action also streamed live and on demand atÂ

• Helping the Lords outscore the Grizzlies in bench scoring,
Shamar Lewis (Toronto, Ont.) notched a team-high 14 points in just 22 minutes on the floor.
• Third-year veteran forward Julian Hinckson Jr. (Ajax, Ont.) was a consistent presence for the Lords interior, scoring a 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the field.
• Georgian guard Anthony Meggo registered a game-high 18 points, playing a game-high 38 minutes.

Craig Hanson (Ajax, Ont.) brought down a game-high 15 rebounds, helping the Lords out-rebound the Grizzlies 53-40 on the night. He also recorded 10 points for the double-double.
• Hinckson Jr. secured a double-double adding 14 rebounds to his 13 points, adding two steals and one block.
• Tyler Vanessen notched a team-high nine rebounds for the Grizzlies, along with two blocks and one steal.
