PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Undefeated through seven games this season, the No. 9 nationally ranked Durham College men's soccer team shut out the Fleming Knights 5-0 on the road on Thursday night.
The Lords were on fire in the opening half scoring three goals within two minutes.
Matthew Morris (Ajax, Ont.) recorded the game-winning goal in the 11th minute of action, followed by a marker from
Nate Paine (Whitby, Ont.) in the 12th and
Nigel Buckley (Pickering, Ont.) in the 13th.
First-year midfielder
Keishawn Delevante (Ajax, Ont.) rounded out the first half scoring for Durham with his first career OCAA goal in the 41st minute.
In the second half, third-year striker
Jeremy Bangala (Pickering, Ont.) added to his season total with his seventh goal of the season. The 62nd minute marker moved Bangala into a tie for second in the OCAA scoring race.
Lords goalkeeper
Kevon Grant (Oshawa, Ont.) earned his third clean sheet of the season making three saves on the night.
Durham now prepare for the St. Lawrence Vikings, who they will face this Sunday, Sept. 30 at Vaso's Field. Kick off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
