LANCERS TAKE DOWN GRIZZLIES

The men's basketball team walked to an astounding 94-47 win over the Georgian Grizzlies Saturday evening in Barrie, earning their first win of the season.

The Lancers made quick work of the Grizzlies, jumping ahead 24-15 after the first 10 minutes and continuing to outscore them by a minumum of 8 in each quarter. Multiple Lancer players put up big numbers in the game, including game leading scorer, Raymond Yeung. A second year Lancer, Yeung added 21 points, 1 steal and 3 rebounds to the night while first year player Dorrel Atikinson contibuted 20 points and 5 rebounds. Fellow first years Jaden White and Tyrell Howell both turned in notable performances in the win.

Not only were the Lancers on fire offensively, they forced 19 turnovers, 9 steals and recorded 39 defensive rebounds in the game.

With the victory under their belts, Head Coach Patrick Kabeya is looking ahead to game 2 of their weekend double headers. " We had solid contributions from all the guys tonight. Our veterans got things going and our first year guys stepped up and answered the call. We really wanted to limit turnovers and get out in transition and we did both of those things really well. We hope to be able to use this momentum tomorrow and come out 2-0 on the weekend."

The Lancers continue their weekend roadtrip to North Bay where they take on the Canadore Panthers Sunday at 3pm
