PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Durham Lords men's volleyball team ended their season with a close five set road loss versus the Fleming Knights on Sunday afternoon.
The regular season finale marked the fifth five-set match of the season for the Lords who have shown incredible compete throughout their tough 2018-19 campaign. Durham finished ninth in the OCAA east division with a 2-16 record.
The Lords exchanged tightly contested sets with the Knights to open the Sunday afternoon match, winning the first set 25-23, before falling 26-24 in the second. Fleming then took advantage of some Durham mishaps in the third, jumping out to a 2-1 advantage with a 25-18 third set win.
However, the Lords bounced back to force a fifth with a 25-19 fourth set victory. Action was back-and-forth in the fifth and deciding set as the Knights carried a one point lead, 8-7, into the switch. Durham was unable to convert their offence down the stretch though, falling in yet another good showing this year.

Lucas Pichl (Cobourg, Ont.) led all Lords in the five-set contest, recording 16 kills for 16 points.

Tyler Krabi (Stouffville, Ont.) concludes the season as the Lords scoring leader, adding 15 points from 12 kills and three service aces in the season finale.
• Recording 20-plus assists for the 10th time this season,
Kyler Woodburne (Bowmanville, Ont.) ended the afternoon with 27 assists, adding four blocks, five digs and two kills to his stats totals.
• First-year libero
Jacob Haslam led all Lords defensively with nine digs.
