Sting Fall in Five

The Seneca Sting (8-7) fell in five sets to the Fleming Knights (3-12) 25-12, 23-25, 23-25, 25-19, 13-15.

The Sting jumped all over the Knights in the opening set, taking a 13-6 lead before cruising to a one set lead.

The Knights responded by capturing the second and third sets by identical 25-23 scores, pulling away from the Sting beyond the twenty-point mark in each set following ties.

The Sting extended the match by winning the fourth set, once again jumping out to an early lead and cruising to a commanding victory.

The fifth set saw the Knights jump out to a 7-2 lead. The Sting responded, but their comeback attempt fell short.

Crystalyn O'Donnell led the Sting with 13 kills on an amazing .733 hitting percentage to go along with 9 digs and 3 aces. Nicole Boyd added 11 kills, 4 aces and 17 digs while Lauren Watt finished with 10 kills, 7 aces and 19 digs. Amy Sayaveth added 8 kills, 4 aces and 20 digs while Taylor Butcher topped the team with 24 digs. Maddy Jenkins had 38 assists and 16 digs.

Stephanie Dementjev topped the Knights wit 11 kills, 3 aces and 16 digs. Danielle Prsa had 6 kills and 10 digs. Jessica Daze (17), Carrie Anderson (15) and Katelyn Wilkins (13) each topped double digits in digs. Anderson also added 23 assists.
