NORTH BAY, Ont. – The Durham College men's volleyball team's perfect conference play came to an end on Saturday as they lost their first sets of the season to the Canadore Panthers, but the Lords held on to win the match 3-2 to improve to 5-0.
Andrew Watson (Uxbridge, Ont.) led the team with 13 kills in the victory, while
Erik Janssen (Hampton, Ont.) had 11 kills and four blocks.
Mike Harper (Oakville, Ont.) continued to lead the team in blocks with five in the five-setter.
In
Matt McGirr's (Brampton, Ont.) first match back in the lineup since Oct. 29 he picked up nine kills, a service ace and two blocks.
Shawn Hofmann led Canadore in the loss with 12 kills and five blocks, while Josiahs Fiddler had 11 blocks and three kills.
Durham will now return home after their lone game this week to hose the Loyalist Lancers on Thursday night. First serve is scheduled for 8 p.m. at the CRWC.
