OTTAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 road match versus the Algonquin Thunder on Friday night in Ottawa. Set scores for the match were 17-25, 30-28, 17-25, 16-25.
Following a slow-paced first set, the action picked up in the second as the Lords appeared to find an answer for the Thunder attack. Matching the dynamic Algonquin offence, the Lords pushed the home team into extra points. Both teams would battle to match point opportunities on several occasion, but it was Durham coming out on top with the second set victory. However, the momentum gained from the exciting set did not carry over for Durham as the Thunder were able to find their footing and secure their eighth win of the season.
The Lords will remain in the nation's capital for another day, challenging La Cite Coyotes on Saturday, Jan. 18. First serve for the afternoon match is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Tyler Krabi registered his ninth 10-plus point match in the loss, finishing the evening with a team-high 13 points off of 11 kills, one ace and one block.
• Joining the Lords following the winter break,
Dalton Halligan (Cobourg, Ont.) has stepped right in as a new offensive weapon recording 12 points from 11 kills and one service ace.
• Breaking the 20 point mark in the four set match, Algonquin's Richard Baur led all players with 19 kills, three aces and three blocks for a game-high 25 points.

Kyler Woodburne (Bowmanville, Ont.) guided the Lords offence with a team-high 17 assists.
• Halligan also made his presence known on the defensive side of the court, notching a team-high seven digs for the Lords.
• Jackie Nguyen led the Thunder with 26 assists, while tying Jarrod McNaughton with nine digs apiece defensively.
