LANCERS SWEPT BY LORDS

LANCERS SWEPT BY LORDS

The Lancers started off strong against the 4-0 Durham Lords and batted to within 4 points of a win in the first set before giving up the game. Despite staying competitive and forcing long rallies, the Lancers struggled with their offense and couldn't quite manage to finish the point when it counted and dropped the game in 3 straight sets (25-21, 25-12, 25-12). The team wasn't able to control their aggression and made 26 unforced errors in the 3 sets.

While the 1-3 Lancers may have struggled to score the ball off the attack, they had no problem putting up a solid block against the Lords. Fourth year middle Jillian Hoftyzer contributed 6 blocks to the teams total of 14.

With Hoftyzer making a statement in the front court, first year libero Geneva Bloemen kept the Lancers in the game in the back court. Bloemen stood out for the Lancers with consistent serve receive and aggressive defence that has become a crucial part of the team.

The Lancers look to get back in the win column on Wednesday November 7th when they host the Fleming Knights (0-3).
