Men's soccer open season with road win

SUDBURY, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's soccer team (1-0 OCAA) hit the road for what will be their longest road trip of the regular season, and returned from Cambrian with a 4-0 victory in tow.

Malcolm Whyte opened the scoring for the Bruins in the 23rd minute and they would maintain that edge at the break.

Sheridan was able to break the game wide open late in the second half, with a trio of goals coming in the span of five minutes.

Francis Ameyaw Jr. was first with a 72nd minute tally, but was followed by Nicolas Mejia a minute later and Rashaun Walkes in the 76th minute.

The Double-Blue out-shot Cambrian 15-5 in the contest, with a 9-1 edge in shots on target.

They will open up the home portion of their schedule when they host George Brown on Sept. 16 (2pm).
