(London, Ontario) – At Fanshawe Athletics annual Falcons Fest event, the Men's Soccer squad (4-0-1) defeated the Mohawk Mountaineers (1-4) by a final score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. They are currently riding a 22-game regular season unbeaten streak, dating back to September 17, 2016.

The Falcons opened the first half with a pair of corner kicks, but could not finish in front of the net. In the 35th minute Ahmad Al Rajie (London, ON) split the Mohawk defenders and drew a penalty in the box. The Mountaineers keeper had a brilliant save on Alberto Barquin's (London, ON) penalty kick and was able to keep the game scoreless. Just before the end of the first frame in the 44th minute, Al Rajie broke the ice with a hard shot that got past the Mohawk keeper to put the home team up 1-0.

In the second half, Fanshawe continued to pressure the Mountaineers and went up 2-0 on a beautiful goal from rookie striker Ben Vyfschaft (London, ON) in the 47th minute. Mohawk got on the board with a nice shot to the top right corner of the net in the 87th minute. In injury time, Al Rajie added another goal and the Falcons were able to hold on to the 3-1 lead behind solid defending from centre-back Bradley Heath (Markham, ON). On the game, Fanshawe outshot Mohawk 32-8.
