KINGSTON, Ont. - The Durham Lords men's basketball team opened the 2018-19 OCAA regular season with a road victory over the St. Lawrence Vikings on Friday evening in Kingston.
The Lords offence was extremely efficient in the season opener, shooting over 50 percent from the field, while also knocking down over 40 percent from behind the three point line.
Playing five of their first six games on the road, Durham will next travel to Barrie to challenge the Georgian Grizzlies on Wednesday, Oct. 24. Tip off for the mid-week contest is set for 8 p.m.

Brandon Halliburton (Brampton, Ont.) led the Lords offence with a game-high 26 points on 12-of-21 shooting in 33 minutes played.
• Three other Lords reached double-digits with
Khaled Djabo (Guelph, Ont.) scoring 16,
Craig Hanson (Ajax, Ont.) 12, and
Shamar Lewis (Toronto, Ont.) 10.
• Sleiddy Gernold Jospeh scored a team-high 16 on an efficient 8-of-14 from the field for the Vikings.
• Hanson grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to come up one shy of a double-double in his first game as a Lord.
• Third-year veteran forward
Julian Hinckson Jr. (Ajax, Ont.) brought down six rebounds on top of registering one steal, one block and nine points.
• Both Tom Withey and Jared Edwards came up with eight rebounds for St. Lawrence
