BELLEVILLE, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball team continued their perfect start to the season Tuesday night with an 88-43 victory over the Loyalist Lancers.
 
For the first time since 2000-01 the Lords have started conference play with four straight wins.
 
"We're excited with the start this season, but know it's still early," said head coach Heather LaFontaine. "We face St. Lawrence this Friday, which will be a good test and still have yet to face most teams in the east region. The team has shown they are ready to compete so far this season and know there is still lots to work on if we want to continue to be successful."
 
Durham held Loyalist to a maximum of 12 points in a quarter, in each of the first and second. In the third and fourth the Lords outscored the Lancers 23-9 and 24-10.
 
Lindsay Panchan (Ajax, Ont.) scored a season-high 27 points with seven boards to lead Durham's offence.
 
Kayla Marshall (Ottawa, Ont.) scored 15 points, while Katiesha Brissett (Pickering, Ont.) was the only other Lord in double-digits with 11 points alongside seven rebounds.
 
Porscha Hewitt was the lone Lancer to reach double-digits, scoring 15 points for Loyalist in the loss.
 
This Friday the Lords will travel to Kingston to face the St. Lawrence Vikings who are also 4-0 this season, the only other team in the east region with a perfect record.
 
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
