OAKVILLE, Ont. - The Sheridan Bruins men's volleyball team (5-4 OCAA) closed the first half of their season with a pair of wins - 3-1 over Boreal and 3-0 over Cambrian - in less than 24 hours, and will take a three-match win streak with them into their semester break.

"We were able to pick up two big wins and finish the semester above .500, just two wins back of second place," head coach Frank Pento said. "I'm really proud of what we've accomplished so far while dealing with injuries and illness. The guys came together and put together some great performances. We are very excited for this break to review and analyze our game films, as well as recover."

Against Boreal, the Double Blue took the first two sets with relative ease - 25-13 and 25-18 - before stumbling in the third, and seeing Boreal win their first set of the season, 25-23.

Sheridan bounced back to close out 25-14 in the fourth, however.

Chris Adams notched a team-high 12 points (eight kills, three blocks, one ace) while hitting .500. MacCauley Ross was also in double figures with 11 points - seven kills, three blocks, one ace.

They were even more efficient in their defeat of Cambrian, cruising to the 25-17, 25-14, 25-20 triumph.

The Bruins had a sizeable advantage in total offence, out-pointing Cambrian 53-21, while posting 44 kills, six aces, and three blocks.

Andrew Cianci was the only Sheridan player in double figures with 10 points (nine kills, one block), while Marcel Phang (eight kills, one ace), Matt Stokes (eight kills), and Andre Zopf (seven kills, one ace) fell just shy.

While they hit the midway point in fourth place in the OCAA West, with some better fortune, they could easily be second.

Three of their four defeats came in five setters, all of which saw the Bruins out-point their opposition.
