OSHAWA, Ont – When the smoke cleared at the CRWC on Thursday evening, it was the hearts of Lords fans that were broken as Durham's men's volleyball team dropped a five-set marathon to the George Brown Huskies.
The teams traded sets back-and-forth throughout the match before the Huskies forced a fifth and deciding frame. A nail-biter to the end, the scores were seldom separated by more than a one-point differential, neither team able to hold possession for long stretches. When the Huskies closed things out at 15-13, it remained nonetheless an inspired performance from the Lords who, despite their 1-7 record, are demonstrating consistent fight game in and game out.
The Lords are back at it on Sunday afternoon at the CRWC when they match up with the Canadore Panthers. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m.
