OSHAWA, Ont. – Harrison Wood (Uxbridge, Ont.) and
Erik Janssen (Hampton, Ont.) combined for 21 kills in a straight-set victory for the nationally ranked Durham College men's volleyball team over the George Brown Huskies.
Wood's 11 kills on 15 attempts led Durham, while Janssen wasn't far off with 10 on 13 attempts for a .769 hitting percentage.
Mike Harper (Oakville, Ont.) picked up a season-high eight kills, alongside seven apiece from
Andrew Watson (Uxbridge, Ont.) and
Bret Polfuss (Kitchener, Ont.).
John Pham (Mississauga, Ont.) ran the arsenal of offensive weapons for Durham, with 40 assists in the match. The setter also had two blocks and two kills in the match.
Harper was the team's leader at the service line with three aces.
D'Artaniel Jackman's 10 kills led George Brown's offence. Yuseph Jackman wasn't far off, picking up nine kills.
The No. 11 ranked Lords will now have the week off before hosting the Centennial Colts on Thursday, Dec. 1 – their final home game of the opening half of the season. Their final game of the first half takes place Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Seneca.
The first serve in each of their next two matches is scheduled for 8 p.m.
