OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men's soccer team got back in the win column after doubling up the Centennial Colts Thursday night.
Durham (4-2-0) moves two points ahead of the Cambrian Golden Shield (3-1-1) for second place in the OCAA east region standings. The teams are set to clash in Sudbury on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. Cambrian beat Durham 1-0 last weekend, knocking the Lords out of the CCAA national rankings.
Austin MacDonell (Greenwood, Ont.) could not be stopped as he recorded a hat-trick, scoring the Lords first three goals of the game. MacDonell opened up scoring in the 12
th minute, followed by back-to-back strikes in the 49
th and 51
st minute.
Sasa Vukoje (Trebinje, Serbia) rounded out scoring for the Lords chipping the ball in with thirty minutes to go in the game.
Centennial would cut the Lords lead in half in the 79
th minute, that was followed by some rough play. As tempers flared, two red cards were handed out with Stephen Hwedieh (Centennial) and
Alex Needs (Durham) being sent to the sidelines.
MacDonell has been on fire as of late having scored five goals in the Lords last three games.

Mark Kamstra (Newcastle, Ont.) came up big in the first half with eight saves. He had nine in total in the win.
