OSHAWA, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's baseball team improved their league leading record to 7-1 in the OCAA standings with a doubleheader sweep of Durham College (3-3) in Oshawa on Sunday afternoon. St. Clair posted wins of 9-0 and 10-7 completing successful GTA swing trip with a 3-1 record on the weekend.

In the opening game, St. Clair pitcher Micah Harris (Harrow) threw a complete game shutout spreading out five hits and one walk to go with seven strikeouts over his seven innings of work. Kevin Dion (Newmarket), Carson Burke (Tecumseh/St. Anne) and Matt Brooks (St. Thomas) each had two hits to pace the Saints offensive attack but Garik Godard (Belle River) carried the big stick clubbing a home run as part of his three runs batted in.

In the second game the Saints put up 10 runs in the first three innings but had to hold on late for a three-run win. Taylor Pappin (Brantford) pitched six innings for St. Clair to take the victory giving up four earned runs and eight hits but struck out five batters. Matt Bondy (Amherstburg/General Amherst), Garik Godard, Brendan Renaud (Amherstburg/St. Thomas of Villanova) and Carson Burke all had two hits in the game. Burke terrorized the bases again for the Saints with three stolen bases while Bondy and Godard each had two RBIs. Godard capped a great day finishing on the mound in relief for the game's final two outs.

The Saints are next in action Wednesday when they host the University of Windsor at Lacasse Park in exhibition play starting at 7 p.m.
