DURHAM 3, FANSHAWE 0

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons men's baseball team (7-7) hosted the Durham Lords (7-5) on Sunday afternoon. Fanshawe fell in both games by scores of 3-0 and 5-2.

The Falcons struggled to score in Game 1 of the doubleheader, and fell to the Lords 3-0. Fanshawe's Tyler Wood (Niagara Falls) had five strikeouts, however, took his first loss of the season, bringing his record to 1-1. Brodie Harkness (2-1) of Durham pitched a no-hitter for the win.

In Game 2, Durham went up 2-0 after the second inning. In the bottom of the third, Carlos Arteaga (London) hit a triple to left field and would score on a Travis Helps (Mooretown) single. A sacrifice fly by Cam Cook (Oakville) scored Jeremy Noonan (London) to tie the ball game at two. Unfortunately, the Lords would add three runs in the top of the fourth to take the 5-2 lead and the win. The losing pitcher for Fanshawe was Oakville native Tyler Rymal (1-1). Logan Stewart (1-1) was the winning pitcher for the Lords.

Fanshawe will be on the road to finish the regular season starting with a doubleheader against the St. Clair Saints (10-4) on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
