ST. CLAIR 7, GEORGE BROWN 2

TORONTO - The St. Clair College men's baseball team (14-4) swept a doubleheader at Christie Pits in Toronto over George Brown College (3-15) Saturday afternoon by scores of 7-2 and 11-0. However, the Saints games against Seneca College were postponed due to rain and poor field conditions on Sunday. With the wins, St. Clair has a hold of first place in the OCAA pennant race.

On Saturday in Game 1, St. Clair got a complete game win from Taylor Pappin who struck out 12 batters and gave up only two runs on four hits. Kevin Dion (Newmarket) had three singles and an RBI to pace the Saints offensively.

In Game 2, the Saints scored seven runs in the opening inning and cruised to the mercy shortened five-inning win. Garik Godard (Belle River) had two singles and double with three RBIs for St. Clair. Micah Harris (Harrow) surrendered only five hits while striking out four batters in five innings of work.

St. Clair will await a decision on the makeup games with Seneca before getting ready to host the OCAA provincial championship tournament Oct. 20-21 at Lacasse Park.
