OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham Lords men's baseball team continued their strong start to the season, earning a doubleheader split versus top contender St. Clair. Durham claimed the first game with a tightly contested 2-1 score line, before dropping game two 11-1.

Third-year pitcher
Jake Legros (Whitby, Ont.) was impressive once again from the mound, picking up his third complete game win of the season. Legros now sits first in the OCAA in wins (3), seventh in strikeouts (13), and first in ERA not allowing a single earned run so far this season.

A combination of hits from
Sam Cawker (Courtice, Ont.),
Alec Brown (Bowmanville, Ont.), and
Aidan Ali (Whitby, Ont.) drove in the winning runs in the fourth inning.

A slow start to game two saw the Saints jump ahead 4-1 after two innings. The Lords added one run in the second inning to close the gap, but were unable to complete the comeback.

• Ali drove in the winning round in the fourth, going one-for-two on the afternoon.
• Cawker, Brown, and
Griffin Oliver (Oshawa, Ont.) all delivered two hits for the Lords.
• Kyle Gagnon drove in the lone run for the Saints in the third inning.

• Ali drove in the lone Lords RBI in the second inning, going one-for-one at the plate with a walk.
• Three Saints batters scored multiple RBI, led by Tyler Lansley's three.

• Legros pitched seven complete innings, striking out five, while allowing just one earned run.
• Garik Godard delivered six innings for the Saints, allowing nine hits, two runs, and two walks.
Game 2

Jason Crouse (Oshawa, Ont.) picked up the loss pitching 3.1 innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits and five walks.

Mitchell Heineman (Pickering, Ont.) and
Alex Hodgson (Ajax, Ont.) appeared in relief for Durham.
• Evan Ferguson completed six innings for the Saints, allowing just two hits, while striking out two.
