TORONTO - Humber College's Dennis Dei Baning (Toronto, Ont.) is the 2021 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Men's Baseball Player of the Year.
The fifth-year outfielder led all OCAA players with five home runs, 27 RBI, 23 runs scored and 41 total bases. Dei Baning batted a slash line of .429/.559/.976. He guided Humber to the league's second-best win percentage of .786 (11-3). Dei Baning is also an OCAA All-Star.
Tyler Chong (Markham, Ont.) of Durham is the OCAA Rookie of the Year. Chong was among the league leaders with 20 hits and 19 runs scored. He also had a slash line of .426/.509/.553. Chong is also an OCAA All-Star.
Humber's Stephen Nahrabeki (Mississauga, Ont.) is the OCAA Batting Champion. The fourth-year player had a slash line of .478/.576/.609. Nahrabeki was the OCAA co-leader with Dei Baning with 23 runs scored, and was second with 22 hits. He is also an OCAA All-Star.
Cameron O'Reilly (Moose Jaw, Sask.) of St. Clair is the OCAA Pitcher of the Year. The first-year hurler had a stellar league-leading 0.88 ERA resulting in a 4-0 record. He also pitched a league-high two shutouts and two complete games in an abbreviated regular season. O'Reilly is also an OCAA All-Star.
Seneca's Matthew Nailer is the OCAA Coach of the Year. Nailer led the Seneca Sting to their first-ever regular season title, winning the East Division championship with a 9-3 record. Seneca's .750 win percentage was third in the league.
Also named OCAA All-Stars were Faris Adamou (Mississauga, Ont.) and Greg Van Boekel (Woodstock, Ont.) of Fanshawe; Dalton Brownlee (Innisfil, Ont.) and Aidan Murphy (Brampton, Ont.) of Humber; and Josh Anderson (Ajax, Ont.), Henry Real (Panama) and Colin Robinson (Windsor, Ont.) of St. Clair.
