ST. CLAIR 9, FANSHAWE 1

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's softball team moved their OCAA leading record to 16-4 in their final home games of the season after sweeping Fanshawe College (4-14) at Mic Mac Park on Tuesday night by scores of 9-1 and 13-1.

The Saints scored early and often in the opening game capped by a four-run sixth inning that allowed Olivia Elliott (Oakville) to cruise to her seventh win of the season. Nicole Brownell (Ancaster), Sarah Bondy (Amherstburg/General Amherst) and Madisyn Clark (Leamington) each had two hits in the game for St. Clair.

In the night cap, St. Clair used a nine-run third inning to put the game away and give pitcher Sara Stiller (Windsor/Holy Names) her seventh win of the season. Bondy had a pair of doubles in her three-hit performance to lead the Saints offensively.

The Saints go on the road this weekend for the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association National Championship hosted by the University of Ottawa. The championship game is slated for Sunday at 2 p.m.
