ST. CLAIR 9, MOHAWK 4

BRAMPTON, Ont. - St. Clair Saints erased a 3-1 Mohawk lead scoring four runs in both the third and fifth innings en route to a 9-4 win over the Mountaineers at the OCAA Women's Softball Championship hosted by Humber College and presented by belairdirect.

The Mountaineers took home the bronze medal while St. Clair advanced to the gold medal match against Durham at the Brampton Fairgrounds.

Sarah Bell homered and scored twice for Mohawk. Shelby Hayward, Mackenzie Phillpot and Stephanie Godden got the other Mountaineers' RBIs.

Jordan Taylor had two RBI for the Saints. Olivia Elliott picked up the win and Aimee Leduc lost.

St. Clair, then defeated Durham 4-2, but it was the first loss in the double-knockout event for the Lords and the teams had to play an extra championship game.

This time, Durham came up big, shutting out the Saints 9-0. Emily Hill went the distance allowing no runs on just four hits.

For the Lords, it is their third straight OCAA women's softball title and 19th all time.
