OCAA WEEKLY AWARDS

TORONTO - The following have been recognized by the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Sunday, Jan. 14.

MEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
CJ Bennett, Humber
Third-year forward CJ Bennett (Brampton) earned a rare triple-double in Humber's 102-66 win over Conestoga on Jan. 13. Bennett scored a team-high 21 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and tallied 10 assists. For the season Bennett is averaging 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Humber is 8-3 on the season in what is shaping up to be an exciting race atop the West Division.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Shania Graham, Redeemer
First-year guard Shania Graham (Saint John, N.B.) scored a career-best 24 points to lead all players in Redeemer's 61-41 win at Lambton on Jan. 11. Graham was 77 per cent shooting (10-of-13) and was 2-of-3 from three-point range. She also helped out with four rebounds and four assists. It is the second time Graham has scored at least 20 points, reaching double figures in eight of her 10 games.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jarrod McNaughton, Algonquin
belairdirect Second-year middle Jarrod McNaughton (Ottawa) recorded a match-high 22 points in Algonquin's four-set win at Canadore on Jan. 13. McNaughton contributed 19 kills, two stuff blocks and one service ace. He was one point shy of his season best, and is averaging 4.1 points per set. Algonquin avenged a four-set loss at home to Canadore to end the first half, splitting the home-and-home series (separated by 42 days).

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Camryn Morgan, Georgian
Second-year outside hitter Camryn Morgan (Barrie) recorded a team-high 10 kills in Georgian's three-set win at Fleming on Jan. 13. Morgan was also strong from the service zone with four aces to tie a bow on her season-best 14-point effort. After a slow start to the campaign, Georgian has won five straight matches to improve to 7-3, good for third place in the East Division standings.

TEAM OF THE WEEK
Fleming, Men's Volleyball
On Jan. 13, the Fleming Knights became the first East Division team to defeat the Georgian Grizzlies since Feb. 17, 2016 in a five-set victory at home. Georgian entered the match having won 27 straight regular season matches, while Fleming had not won back-to-back matches all season. Fourth-year left side Erich Perau (Peterborough) led the way with 22 kills and a stuff block totalling 23 points.
