Zofia Boruta
School: Fleming
Program: Practical Nursing
Year of Eligibility: 1
Sport: Women's Volleyball
Hometown: Ennismore, Ont.
Boruta has been given the role as Fleming's new setter and this week demonstrated why. In a pair of matches, Zoe led the Knights in assists which allowed Fleming's attacking players to be successful, scoring several big points and changing the moment during various moments in every set played. Off the court, Boruta has been working hard in the weight room to help the first-year player become a strong overall athlete. Boruta has become a leader on the team and will no doubt continue to help the Knights grow and be successful over the course of the season.

Anthony Gurrieri
School: Seneca
Program: Behavioural Psychology
Year of Eligibility: 3
Sport: Men's Soccer
Hometown: Maple, Ont.
Gurrieri rose to the occasion at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Soccer National Championship in Langley, B.C., being named Championship MVP. Gurrieri helped the Sting win their first two matches in penalty kicks, stopping two shots in each. In the gold medal match against OCAA-rival Humber, Gurrieri made countless saves as Seneca played short two players, falling in extra time 2-1. OCAA teams finished 1-2 for the first time at the men's soccer nationals, with Humber defending its gold medal and Seneca taking the silver.

Libby Hirst

Hirst had a huge game for the Algonquin Wolves on Nov. 11, scoring 25 points and grabbing 15 rebounds for a double-double in a 102-55 win over the George Brown Huskies. The second-year forward shot 9-of-13 for 69.2 per cent from the field, and 7-of-9 (77.8 per cent) from the free-throw line. Hirst leads all OCAA players with 57 rebounds so far this season, averaging 11.4 boards per game. Thanks in large part to Hirst's performance, the Wolves secured their first road win of the season and now stand at 5-0 atop the East Division standings.

In a tough 65-53 loss to the Lambton Lions in Sarnia on Nov. 12, Angong picked up a first career OCAA double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in 17 minutes of action. The first-year guard followed up that performance the next day with eight points and 10 rebounds in a 66-62 win against the three-time reigning OCAA silver medalist St. Clair Saints, also adding two steals and a block to the stat line.

Tyler Jones

Jones ran to a fourth-place finish in a time of 26:00 over the 8km snow-covered loop at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross-Country Running National Championships in Medicine Hat, Alta., on Nov. 12. With the result, Jones became a five-time All-Canadian recipient, a exceptional career accomplishment. Jones was the top OCAA runner in the race, leading the St. Clair Saints to a consecutive national bronze medal as a team. It marks the fourth straight podium finish for the Saints at nationals, including the gold medal in 2018.
