STODDART MAKES FANSHAWE GOLF HISTORY WITH NATIONAL THIRD-PLACE FINISH

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - The CCAA National Golf Championships concluded today at Desert Blume Golf Club in Medicine Hat, Alta. Fanshawe's Alyssa Stoddart (Orangeville, Ont.) finished in third place in the women's individual event, bringing home Fanshawe's first-ever national golf medal.

Stoddart set a new Fanshawe record for best score in the process of winning the CCAA bronze medal, as she shot plus-17 over the four day tournament, including an impressive three-under par 69 on Day 3. The Falcon women's team, rounded out by Mery Tarigan (Kabanjahe, Indonesia) finished in sixth place overall. Stoddart was named a CCAA Championship All-Star.

The Fanshawe men's squad finished in fifth place in the men's team event. The team includes golfers Thomas Code (Dorchester, Ont.), Brad Byers (Oakville, Ont.), Braydon White (Barrie, Ont.), Blake Mackey (Walkerton, Ont.) and Ryan Harvey (London, Ont.). Code finished tied for 15th in the men's individual event shooting a 294, including a Day 2 low of 67 (five under).
