Women’s Indoor Soccer takes center stage this week in
Vaughan, as Conestoga College (Kitchener) plays host to the
OCAA Women’s Indoor Soccer Championships at
the Ontario Soccer Centre from March 23-24. The event will feature
the top two seeds from each region vying for the provincial
title.
The St. Lawrence Vikings (Kingston) enter the championship as the
early favourite with an undefeated 4-0 record after winning the
east regional contest. Looking to challenge the Vikings will be a
class field including the West region champion Fanshawe Falcons
(London), Central West region champion Mohawk Mountaineers
(Hamilton) and Central East region champion Seneca Sting (North
York).
The defending women’s indoor soccer champions, the Centennial
Colts (Scarborough) finished second in the Central East this year
and will be back to defend their title. Also looking to challenge
for the provincial title will be the remaining second place teams
from each region including the Fleming Knights (Peterborough),
Humber Hawks (Etobicoke) and the Niagara Knights (Welland).
