ST. CLAIR 107, SAULT 71

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's basketball team made it two OCAA West Division wins in a row after a 107-71 final over Sault College (Sault Ste. Marie) Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex.

Sault came out firing in the first quarter and led the Saints 23-21 entering the second quarter. But St. Clair furnished a strong 10 minutes and took a 54-32 lead into the halftime break.

The Saints kept the pressure on the remainder of the game increasing their lead down the stretch. Thirty-two Sault turnovers resulted in 35 Saints points who shot 58 per cent from the field in the game including nine makes from the beyond the three-point arc.

Jermaine Lynch (Windsor/JL Forster) led St. Clair with 20 points with Lance Drummonds (Hamilton) and Nik Veigli (Cottam/Essex District) each putting up 18 points. Will Lara-Caston (Windsor/JL Forster) scored 17 points to go with an impressive nine assists for the Saints. Gil Atencio (Panama City, Panama) rounded out St. Clair's double digit scorers chipping in with 14 points and added eight rebounds.

Sault's Declan Stockdale (Australia) scored a game-high 26 points in a losing cause.
