LAMBTON 81, ST. CLAIR 75

SARNIA, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's basketball team let one slip away Saturday afternoon in Sarnia, Ont., dropping an 81-75 decision to Lambton College.

The Saints held a 70-66 lead with under three minutes to play in the fourth quarter. But St. Clair surrendered an 11-0 run and could not make up the difference in the final minute which turned out to be Lambton's largest lead of the game.

It was close knit throughout with the teams trading eight lead changes and sharing another 10 ties. St. Clair had a slim 37-36 halftime lead and entered the fourth quarter up 56-53.  Three Saints did not reach the end of the game due to foul trouble but they did make eight triples as a team in the contest. Lambton's biggest statistical advantage came at the free throw line where they scored 27 points to just nine for the Saints.

Third-year guard Will Lara-Caston (Windsor/JL Forster) scored 24 points to go with eight rebounds and six steals for the Saints. Shawon Anderson (Windsor/WF Herman) made three triples on his way to 13 points for St. Clair with Gil Atencio (Panama City, Panama) and Jermaine Lynch (Windsor/JL Forster) chipping in with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Lambton's Branden Padgett (Detroit, Mich.) scored a game-high 28 points to lead his team to the win.
