ST. CLAIR 101, U OF T MISSISSAUGA 66

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's basketball team got back in the win column with a lopsided 101-66 victory over winless University of Toronto Mississauga on Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex.

Toronto is new to the OCAA and this is their inaugural season in basketball. The Saints led 23-17 after the opening frame and turned that into a 45-28 lead by halftime.

St. Clair didn't look back and was up 76-50 entering the fourth quarter allowing all 13 players dressed an opportunity for a tally on the score sheet. The Saints shot 55 per cent from the field in the game and made nine triples while getting 60 points alone from their reserves. But a significant advantage in rebounding (46-34) allowed for easy second chance points as part of their 52 points in the paint. The Saints also scored 35 points off 29 Toronto turnovers.

Saints swing man Lance Drummonds (Hamilton) led the Saints scoring 18 points to go with seven rebounds and six steals. Third-year guard Will Lara-Caston (Windsor/JL Forster) scored 15 points including 4-of-4 from beyond the arc while adding four assists for the Saints. Shawon Anderson (Windsor/WF Herman) was good off the bench scoring 12 points for St. Clair.

Toronto's Zaman Khan (Ottawa) came into the game as the OCAA's second-leading scorer and averaging nearly 25 points per game but was held to just 19 points in the loss.
