FANSHAWE 79, ST. CLAIR 54

LONDON, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's basketball team dropped their record to 2-2 in the OCAA's West Division with a 79-54 loss at Fanshawe College in London, Ont., on Tuesday night.

A sluggish offensive performance by both teams in the early going led to a low scoring affair and defensive struggle.  Fanshawe led 16-10 after the first quarter but St. Clair battled to take the lead back by a slim 34-33 count at the half.  The Saints could not however mount an offense in the second half while Fanshawe picked up the pace building a 30-point lead down the stretch.  A bad shooting performance by St. Clair saw them only convert 28% from the field overall with only 5 deep balls (20%) in the game.

David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, MI) led the Saints with 14 points but only had teammate Daelyn Davis (Romulus, MI) keep him company in double figures with 12 points.  Ian Smart (Chatham, ON) had 10 rebounds but only 4 points for St. Clair.

The St. Clair men's basketball team will wait until Nov. 16th to resume their regular season schedule when they host Mohawk College (Hamilton) at 8:00pm.  They face Niagara College (Welland) Nov. 17th at 3:00pm to complete the home weekend.
