GEORGIAN MEN'S RUGBY HOST FLEMING IN BRONZE MEDAL GAME SATURDAY

GEORGIAN MEN'S RUGBY HOST FLEMING IN BRONZE MEDAL GAME SATURDAY

BARRIE, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's rugby team will host the Fleming Knights in the OCAA bronze medal game this Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at J.C. Massie Field on the Georgian College Barrie campus.

It will be a rematch of last year's gold medal game which the Grizzlies won in a close battle 19-14 in Peterborough, but this time Georgian will have home field advantage. The game also features the two teams who finished in first place in their respective divisions, but lost in the semi-finals.

After going perfect in the regular season, the Grizzlies fell to the St. Lawrence Vikings last Saturday at home 28-24 in the semi-finals. While the final result was disappointing, the Grizzlies have the opportunity to refocus and achieve a new milestone.

Georgian will be looking for a men's rugby medal for the third straight year, something that has never happened in school history. The Grizzlies have earned gold and silver in each of the two previous seasons.

Fleming, who went 5-1 in the regular season, fell to the Sheridan Bruins in a close 22-19 match last Saturday. The Knights would also like to repeat as a medalist for the second straight season.

Something will have to give between the two teams as one team will go away empty handed.

Tickets to the bronze medal game at J.C. Massie Field are available for $10 at the doors. The game will also be streamed live online at YouTube.com/GeorgianGrizzlies
