OCAA MEN'S RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY AFTERNOON

OSHAWA, Ont. - The OCAA men's rugby champion will be crowned this weekend in Oshawa.

Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Oshawa Civic on Field 5.

Last Saturday the game, which features the host Durham Lords and Georgian Grizzlies, was postponed due to field conditions. The decision to postpone the championship game was made by coaches, officials and the OCAA men's rugby convenor.

The Lords play host as the top team in the province after the regular season, finishing just ahead of the Grizzlies. Both squads finished conference play are the top seeds from their respective divisions and were presented with five all-star awards each on Saturday to recognize their individual successes in league play.

Of note, rugby returned to Durham College this season, the first time the Lords have played in the OCAA since 1996.

Following the championship match will be the medal and banner presentation.
