Sheridan Bruins Move On To Consolation Finals, and An End to the Knights Season

Peterborough, On – Sheridan Bruins make a strong comeback to defeat the Fleming Knights 2-1. In a close match between the Knights and the Bruins, when thought to be won by the Knights, the Bruins merge victorious scoring two goals in the last three minutes of the match.

With the conclusion of this game marks the end of the Knights' season. The Fleming Knights went 3-6-1 during their season in the East Division ranking 5th, and faced off against the Humber Hawks in the quarter finals of the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships as the tournament host. The Hawks were successful in solidifying the win against the Knights; however, Fleming showed that despite being a small school, it is still a worthy foe by executing strong defense and maintaining a low point differential for the game.

During the consolation round of the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships the Knights and the Bruins appeared evenly matched reaching 51 minutes of game play before the first goal was scored. The Fleming Knights took the lead with Kayode (Mike) Adebayo taking full opportunity over a penalty kick on the Bruins' net.

Despite not winning, the Fleming Knights showed that they were a formidable opponent in this tournament and that they do belong in the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships.

The Sheridan Bruins now move to the consolation finals on October 28 at 9 am versus the Fanshawe Falcons, hosted by Fleming College. Bronze medal match to follow at 12 pm and the gold medal match following at 2:30 pm.
