Humber Hawks Win Bronze at the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships

Peterborough, ON – The Humber Hawks take home the Bronze medal after defeating the Niagara Knights 1-0 at the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships.

 The Humber Hawks went undefeated for 4 seasons and maintained an almost perfect record at the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships. The Hawks swept the Central division going 10-0 qualifying for the OCAA Men's Soccer Championships as the highest seed facing off against the host, Fleming College. The Hawks defeated the Fleming Knights 2-0 in the quarter finals and moved on to face the Algonquin Thunder in the semi finals.

 In an intense semi final game which resulted in a tie breaking penalty kick shootout, the Humber Hawks were defeated by the Algonquin Thunder and headed to the Bronze Medal match versus the Niagara Knights. The Algonquin Thunder moved onto the Gold Medal match versus the Durham Lords.

 Gianlucas Scorzafave of the Humber Hawks scored the only goal of the Bronze Medal match which resulted in a win for Humber. Despite playing a man short in the late second half, due to an unfortunate red card, the Hawks showed the league their vigor by preventing the Niagara Knights from tying the game and thus ensuring the Hawks their victory and Bronze Medal.
