FANSHAWE 82, ST. CLAIR 58

LONDON, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team (10-6) started well in London, Ont., on Wednesday night but eventually fell 82-58 to Fanshawe College (14-2).

The Lady Saints were red hot to start the game jumping out to an early 14-2 lead. But Fanshawe responded and St. Clair only led 16-12 after the first quarter.

By halftime, the Saints trailed 35-29 and in the third quarter, Fanshawe took control never looking back. Overall St. Clair did not shoot the ball well (33 per cent from the field) but gave up 20 offensive rebounds and had trouble shutting down Fanshawe's penetration to the basket.

Shannon Kennedy (Windsor/St. Joseph's) had another good game just missing a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Shooting guard Logan Kucera (Chatham) had 14 points and four assists but no other Saints reached double figures.

Fanshawe's Ali Vlasman (Mount Elgin) led all scorers with 27 points in the win.
