SAULT COUGARS NAME NEW WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - The Sault College Cougars are pleased to announce the recent hiring of Gary Cormier as the head coach of the women's varsity basketball team, for the 2018-2019 OCAA season.

Gary comes to Sault College as a highly qualified coach that has worked with student-athletes for more than 30 years. We believe that Gary will not only take steps forward with the program but also provide valuable academic experience for our student-athletes. Gary obtained his honors of physical education from Lakehead University and continued on to the University of Toronto where he received his honors specialist.

"I want to sincerely thank the Sault College Athletic Department for granting me this very exciting opportunity to coach at the college level with their women's varsity basketball team," said Cormier. "I am very much looking forward to starting the relationship building process with returning players as well as with the future potential student athletes both locally and across the province. Sault College is an outstanding educational institution with so much to offer this great community and I am thrilled to be a small part of it."

"We are very excited to have Gary join our Cougar athletics team," said Matt Trainor, Director Student Services at Sault College. "His coaching experience and connections within the basketball community are going to help bring our program to the next level, while providing our athletes with a positive student experience at Sault College."

We hope to see you out cheering on and supporting your local collegiate team and catching the exciting OCAA basketball action at the Sault College Health and Wellness Centre.
