MOHAWK 2, NIAGARA 0

WELLAND, Ont. - The Mohawk women's soccer team made it two straight wins to start the OCAA regular season, with a 2-0 victory over the Niagara Knights in Welland on Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Caitlin Laughlin scored both goals for the Mountaineers in the first half. Laura Babcock and Sabrina Mariani shared the shutout.

Mohawk co-head coach Michael Castellani said the Mountaineers played a strong possession game. "In the second half Niagara pressed, but Mohawk's midfield and defence held their composure. It was a good result today," Castellani said.

The Mountaineer women are right back at it, Saturday, Sept. 16, as they play host to the Fanshawe Falcons at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Field in Ancaster.
