ANCASTER, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons got a goal in the sixth minute after a mixup by Mohawk about 10 yards away from their goal line and beat the Mountaineers 1-0 in OCAA women's soccer Saturday, Sept. 16 at Redeemer North Field. Sheree Uyl got the goal as the Falcons won their third straight game to start the season.
Mohawk midfielder Daniela Cardillo, who played a solid game for the 2-1 Mountaineers, said after the slow start, her team adjusted their play for the second half.
"We were able to pressure them little bit more, which helped us get a few more chances," said Cardillo. "I thought we should have definitely got at least one in, but we played a good game overall and stepped up our game in the second half for sure."
The Mountaineers will next meet Redeemer Royals on Tuesday night (Sept. 19) at 6 p.m.
