NIAGARA 0, MOHAWK 0

ANCASTER, Ont. - They wanted all the points, but the Mohawk women's soccer team had to settle for a 0-0 draw with Niagara in OCAA action at Redeemer Sports Complex on Tuesday, Oct. 3.

The Knights controlled the ball in the second half, but the Mountaineers turned it up in the final 10 minutes.

Mohawk co-head coach Michael Castellani said the goalless draw was very frustrating. "We were not making the critical connection passes in the midfield and it put us under unnecessary pressure," said Castellani. "It's well done, getting the point, but the road to first place just became harder."

The coach praised the play of midfielder Jessica Johnstone (Hamilton/Cardinal Newman) and Sabrina Cianciosi (Hamilton/St. Thomas More) on defence.

Mohawk's record is 5-1-2 after a second straight draw.
