ST. CLAIR 1, NIAGARA 0

WELLAND, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's soccer team improved to 6-2-1 on the season with a 1-0 win over the Niagara College Knights on Saturday afternoon in Welland, Ont.

The Saints played well and probably could have won by more but the Niagara keeper made some great saves throughout the match to keep it close.

Ryan Morneau (Windsor) got the only St. Clair goal in the 26th minute. The Saints had 19 shot attempts compared to eight for the Knights. The Niagara goalie made 11 saves while Tory Brown (Windsor) only had to make one to earn the clean sheet.

With the win, St. Clair is now guaranteed at least third place in the OCAA West Division with one regular season game remaining. The Saints can still catch second place Mohawk with a win in their final match.

The Saints will take on the first place Fanshawe Falcons on Tuesday afternoon in London, Ont. Either way, the St. Clair women are guaranteed a home playoff game on Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Main Campus Field.
