WINDSOR, Ont. - St. Clair College and the Department of Athletics are pleased to announce that women's volleyball head coach Jimmy El-Turk has been recently named by the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) as head coach for the Team Ontario girl's team for the 2021 Canada Games.

OVA High Performance Director LP Mainville had this to say about selecting El-Turk, "The selection was very difficult. We had many highly qualified coaches apply and this speaks to the increasing level of coaching in Ontario. The coach we select for this role demonstrated his ability to design efficient learning environments for high performance athletes. Jimmy has shown a loyal commitment to the Team Ontario program in the past few years and I am convinced he will be a great ambassador of our program in the years to come. I'm really excited to get to work with him and create amazing growth opportunities for young Ontario female volleyball players."

Jimmy will be starting to work immediately on his duties. In 2019, he will support in the identification of players for Team Ontario Red and selection of Canada Games assistant coaches. "I am very excited and honoured to have been selected to represent Ontario at the Canada Games and I look forward to working with the province's most dedicated athletes over the next three summers to assist them in their development towards representing Team Canada on the international stage one day. I want to thank the OVA High Performance team for their trust in me to lead this program and I can't wait to get started on this journey," stated El-Turk.

"We are extremely excited for Jimmy to receive this amazing honour," stated St. Clair Athletic Director Christina Gatto. "Coach El-Turk has worked very hard for us the past three seasons and we are proud he has been chosen to represent our province and take part in this great professional development opportunity."
