OCAA MEN’S & WOMEN’S CONFERENCE TEAMS PICK UP MATCHING SILVER MEDALS

The Men’s and Women’s OCAA Conference Team captured the silver medal at the 2005 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Cross Country Running Open Championships hosted by Fleming College in Peterborough on Saturday November 12th.

Colin Murray-Lawson of Humber College (Etobicoke) finished the men’s eight-kilometre race in a time of 27:33 to claim the silver medal and finish as the top OCAA male runner. Right behind Lawson was John Mason from Fanshawe College (London) who finished third with a close time of 27:56.

In the women’s five-kilometre race Tama Stainton of Mohawk College (Hamilton) was the top OCAA runner with a 13th place finish and a time of 21:45. Crossing the finish line 2 seconds behind Stainton and finishing 14th was Leah Kellar of Loyalist College (Belleville) at 21:47. In the team competition, Georgian College (Barrie) recorded the top OCAA score and finished fourth.
